RS-PRIME is an adhesion-enhancing, single-component, ready-to-use, solvent-free primer based on special dispersion. Used in preparation of absorbent and non-absorbent substrates indoors and protected outdoor areas. As plaster primer, RS-PRIME is suitable for absorbent, mineral substrates like cement, anhydrite and magnesite screeds (also for underfloor heating systems). As bonding bridge for subsequent tile laying work as well as coatings with levelling compounds on tiles, terrazzo, solid adhesive and water-resistant adhesive residues, epoxy resin coatings, moisture barriers base non-epoxy resin and MSP (free from migrating components), wooden substrates, metal, as well sanded or shot-blasted mastic asphalt. Not suitable on PUR pre-coatings and unsanded as well as on OSB boards treated with Conti-Finish. Recommended tools: Microfiber roller, lacquer roller, paintbrush, brush. Mixing: Shake before processing. Processing: Apply evenly and undiluted to clean substrate. Avoid the formation of puddles. For strongly absorbent, cementitious and calcium sulphate screeds, RS-PRIME can be diluted with water at a ratio of 1:1 . Clean the tools with water after use. Remove contamination from primer quickly while still fresh. With conventional substrates, reworking is possible when the primer has dried evenly. Drying time, depending on the room’s climatic conditions, approx. 30-60 minutes.

Substrate |
---|
Suitable substrates:
The substrate must be dry, free of frost, solid, load bearing, dimensionally stable and free of dust, dirt, oil, grease, solvents and loose parts and correspond to the applicable technical National and European guidelines, standards as well as meet the “generally accepted rules of the trade”. Advice must be sought through OMNIE technical before work commences if any doubt or confusion exists. Substrate pre-treatment: Cement and calcium sulphate screeds must be sanded and vacuumed. Non-absorbent substrates cleaned and degreased (sanded if necessary). Mastic asphalt sanded or shot-blasted down to the granular structure. Adhesion-reducing or unstable layers, such as screed edge zones, sinter layers and covering residues must be removed by machine through sanding, milling or shot-blasting.
